Ági couldn't upset Flavia Pennetta, she lost to the Italian in straight sets. In the first set, after a quick exchange of breaks, Pennetta didn't waste her time, she won the set in 27 minutes. The second set started a lot better, however, at 2-1 Ági called the trainer on court. Her thigh didn't seem to bother her though, soon she was leading 3-1. She had three break points in the next game, which could have given her a 4-1 lead. Unfortunately she didn't manage to convert them, and that had negative consequences. At 3-2 Ági managed to hold serve, but it was Pennetta's turn again, she won the set 6-4 and the match also. Ági's next match will be tomorrow evening on Court 7, she plays doubles with Patty Schnyder. Hajrá Ági!

Ági's match against Sandra Zahlavova (CZE) started earlier than expected at the US Open. This was the second meeting of the two players. Their first match was back in Acapulco this year, which Ági won in a tough battle. Everyone was a little concerned about the match, and we all hoped for a successful start. Ági, however, didn't let her supporters worry for long, she started very confidently and won the first set 6-0. At the beginning of the second set, the Czech player finally won her first game, but it wasn't enough to make Ági lose her focus. She held serve too and broke right away and never looked back. She took the second set with confident service and return games. She won the match in 59 minutes. In the next round she plays either Flavia Pennetta or Irina Falconi. Hajrá Ági!

Ági plays her second round match at the US Open tonight, she will face the 19th seed, Flavia Pennetta. The match is scheduled 4th on Court 4, which means it will start around midnight the earliest. The court has no cameras, so we can only follow the match on live score. Ági and Pennetta played each other 5 times in the past, and Pennetta leads the head-to-head 3-2. Their last meeting was in 2009 in Moscow, where Pennetta retired from the match. Ági defeated her in the same year on clay in Madrid 6-3 6-7 6-2. Pennetta won in 2005 in Bogota, in 2008 in Linz and in 2009 in Cincinnati. Based on the rankings, the favorite of the match is the Italian, but let's hope Ági can come up with the same game she showed in the first round and upset the 19th seed.
Everyone is welcome to join us on the forum of the Fan Club, let's cheer for Ági together!
